FAQ – Mastering Service
1. What file formats do you accept for mastering?
We accept WAV files. To ensure the highest possible quality, we recommend sending uncompressed files with a resolution of at least 24-bit and a sample rate of 44.1 kHz or higher.
2. How long does the mastering process take?
The delivery time depends on the complexity of the project and our current workload. Generally, the mastering process takes between 3 to 5 business days. We also offer urgent service options if you need a quicker turnaround.
3. Can I have just one track mastered at a time?
Yes, you can order mastering for a single track. However, if your order includes multiple tracks, we will start the mastering process only after we have received all the tracks for your order.
4. What is the maximum number of stems I can send for stem mastering?
For our stem mastering service, we accept a maximum of 5 stems per project. Each stem should represent a specific group of elements in the mix, such as drums, guitars, vocals, and so on.
5. Do you offer vinyl mastering services?
Yes, we offer a vinyl-specific mastering service, which includes preparing the mix for the unique requirements of this format. This service comes with an additional cost and requires special considerations to ensure optimal playback quality on vinyl.
6. What is a DDP request, and does it incur an additional cost?
The DDP (Disc Description Protocol) is a file format used for the production of CDs and other physical media. Creating a DDP file, which includes all the necessary metadata and information for production, is an additional service that incurs an extra cost. If you wish to include this service, please let us know in advance.
7. What happens if I am not satisfied with the master?
If you are not satisfied with the master, we offer the possibility of two free revisions to make the necessary adjustments. We encourage you to provide detailed feedback to help us achieve the desired result. Any revisions requested after the two free ones will incur additional costs.
8. How can I send files for mastering?
Files can be sent via online file transfer services such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive. Please ensure you include all necessary information and specific instructions for mastering at the time of submission.
9. What if I have an urgent need and require the mastering to be done quickly?
If you need the mastering completed urgently, you can add the “Priority Mastering” option to your order. With an additional cost, we guarantee delivery of the file within 48 hours.
10. What is the difference between stereo mastering and stem mastering?
The main difference lies in the type of mix being mastered. Stereo mastering uses the final stereo mix that you provide, enhancing the overall sound of the track. Stem mastering, on the other hand, uses separate mixes (stems), such as drums, guitars, and vocals, allowing for more detailed control over each element of the mix. Stem mastering is useful for addressing specific issues or achieving a more customized result.
